An ode to all the farm workers who toiled in denim in this barn. After studying and photographing the barn, I have used my hands to piece and stitch connections and memories. There are 25 panels, each representing a family owning or having lived on our property. Twenty families owned the property over a span of almost 180 years, harkening back to William Penn and sons. Thirteen families have lived in the house built in 1845, plus there were renters. Families have included wheat farmers, fruit farmers, a shoemaker, a wallpaper hanger, and several Bucks County artists. Each panel has a symbolic story to tell.
